About the role
Join AECOM's Civil Engineer - Highway / Transportation Design Team in Pittsburgh, PA to work on a variety of challenging and interesting projects. Projects range from roadway and site-civil design, highway and bridge projects, traffic engineering analysis, and transportation planning studies.
Responsibilities
- Develop design criteria, horizontal and vertical alignments, superelevation, barrier/guiderail design, and spot elevation details
- Identify utility conflicts and coordinate resolutions based on interdisciplinary constructability reviews, client feedback, and utility needs
- Develop construction specifications, quantities, and cost estimates
- Implement 3D CADD modeling techniques
- Develop technical reports, tables, and graphics per client and/or internal AECOM standards
- Adhere to and promote AECOM quality procedures
- Complete interdisciplinary technical reviews
- Contribute to internal project-related staffing decisions to facilitate meeting client schedule, scope, and budget
- Prepare presentations that explain technical findings, recommendations, and limitations
- Work collaboratively as part of a larger design team to proactively meet the client’s scope, budget, and schedule through ethical and responsible decision making
- Provide support to AECOM project managers and department managers
- Minimal travel of up to 5 - 10% for client meetings or site visits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent engineering degree plus four (4) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification
- Demonstrated experience using Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD), AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or similar design highway or transportation design applications

- Performs a self-check of work products prior to submitting to others
- Performs technical quality reviews including documentation in project record in accordance with policies and procedures
- Assists with proposals to provide services or obtain funding for projects or programs
Benefits
This role offers a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $125,000 annually, relocation assistance is not available, and sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
