Civil Graduate Engineer, Aviation

About the role

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Graduate Engineer, Aviation to join our team in Appleton, WI. In this role you will work as a team to provide support to a licensed Civil Engineer while learning the company’s standard practices and local agency codes. As part of our Public Infrastructure team, you will be dedicated to becoming proficient in Design Software, performing technical calculations, preparing plans and specifications, and assisting with other project management and engineering tasks. In pursuit of a Professional Engineering license, the applicant must be organized, self-motivated, and able to solve complex issues collaboratively, on time and within budget.

Requirements

• Absolutely required: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent field of study, and/or the ability to obtain within 6-12 months
• Engineer-in-Training Certificate, or the ability to obtain within 6-12 months
• Outgoing, friendly, approachable (team player)
• Strong communication skills with team members and clients, demonstrates active listening techniques
• Proficient in computer software (Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook, Microsoft Project)
• Competent technical skills required to complete engineering tasks
• Able to proactively pursue design solutions
• Able to be open to others' ideas and willing to compromise
• Detail-oriented but also flexible enough to be big picture/conceptual
• Able to compromise and accept others’ ideas
• Good reputation amongst peers, clients, and agencies
• Able to follow general directions and guidelines for the firm’s policies, practices, and procedures
• A supportive team member with the ability to work both independently and within a collaborative environment
