About the role
The Aviation Design team at EXP is based in Chicago, IL and works on projects with major airports across the United States. You will lead design efforts in airfield geometry, pavement design, lighting and signage, utility installation and relocation, construction phasing, airport access roads, security facilities, landside transportation facilities, and prepare contract documents, specifications, reports, and detailed cost estimates.
Responsibilities
- Lead design efforts in airfield geometry
- Lead design efforts in airfield pavement design
- Lead design efforts in airfield lighting and signage
- Lead design efforts in utility installation and relocation
- Lead design efforts in construction phasing
- Lead design efforts in airport access roads and security facilities
- Lead design efforts in landside transportation facilities
- Prepare contract documents, specifications, reports, and detailed cost estimates
- Prepare construction administration
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering with 2+ years of related airport design experience
- EIT or PE
- Proficient with AutoCAD, Civil3D or Microstation
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong interpersonal skills that focus on meeting customer requirements

Pay
The salary range for this role is $85,000 to $110,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skill set, experience, certifications, and geographic location. Compensation may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor.
