Civil/Environmental Engineer (Water/Wastewater)

B&L specializes in transportation engineering, water supply, wastewater management, solid waste management, land planning and site design, environmental services, facilities engineering, land surveying, and asset management.
About the role
We are currently seeking a full-time Civil or Environmental Engineer to join our Water Resources (Water/Wastewater) practice in our Somers, NY office. You will work within project-focused teams to improve public infrastructure in our hometowns and throughout the northeast.
Responsibilities
- Perform civil engineering tasks related to water and sewer infrastructure
- Prepare engineering reports
- Complete design calculations and cost estimates
- Assist with fund and grant applications
- Produce specifications and design drawings
- Coordinate funding programs and ensure permit compliance
- Provide construction phase engineering support
- Manage and/or provide technical assistance to advance projects within scope, budget, and schedule for all phases of water and wastewater projects
- Prepare and present proposals
Requirements
- B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- 2-8+ years of experience in the analysis and design of municipal water treatment and distribution systems, municipal wastewater collection and treatment systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Registration as an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) in NY
- Experience in the consulting engineering field is desired
- Proficiency in technical writing
- Solid marketing and communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with teammates, staff, and clients
Pay
Estimated pay range: $80,000 - $100,000/year. Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location, market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
