About the role

The Civil Engineer will work with both the transportation and water teams to provide quality planning, design, and technical assistance to Discipline Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Performs engineering analysis and design (2D and 3D) for a variety of projects including roadways, intersections, and related infrastructure.
  • Assists with preparation of construction plans, specifications, and contract documents for contracting and bidding of construction projects.
  • Conducts assessment and evaluation of existing system conditions and develops recommended remedial measures.
  • Performs construction phase engineering, including periodic on-site reviews, in collaboration with Construction Services team.
  • Maintains and documents written and verbal communications with clients throughout the development and completion of a project.
  • Attends meetings on project management.
  • Conducts project status review with project manager and team members, checking accuracy of work completed, and monitors timeliness of project completion.
  • Affirms quality control procedures are performed.
  • Maintains responsibility for adherence to applicable codes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years of related engineering and design experience
  • EIT certification, if not yet obtained the PE license
  • Certifications applicable to civil engineering
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the practice of engineering and the implementation of public works infrastructure projects
  • Proficient in design using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project is desired

Qualifications

  • Experience in hydraulic modeling and pump station modeling and analysis
  • Experience in water and wastewater treatment
