About the role
AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a talented Civil Engineer to support water, wastewater treatment, flood protection, and associated projects in our Chelmsford, MA office.

Responsibilities
- Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks associated with the technical design and layout of civil/site systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Exercise engineering judgment for the development of existing conditions basemaps; reviewing subsurface utility information for coordination with existing and new facilities.
- Prepare exhibits, sketches, and other documents utilized for planning, permitting, and presentations.
- Prepare layout and design site development features, access roads, drainage channels, slop stabilization, retaining walls, detention ponds, and surface drainage.
- Prepare layouts and design of yard piping, force mains, gravity sewers, water mains, and storm sewers.
- Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles/sections within the Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD MEP, and Revit.
- Work under the mentorship and supervision of a senior engineer.
- Willingness and ability to occasionally travel to sites throughout North America.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other related field.
- Must have a valid U.S driver’s license and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
Qualifications
- Prior related intern and/or professional experience.
- Successful Passing of the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software.
- Basic knowledge of industry-standard computer software for the position such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and commercially available engineering analysis packages.
- Detail-oriented while still able to understand/comply with the big picture/goals of a project.
- Ability to multi-task.
