Civil Engineer in Training
About the role
Our Albuquerque office is seeking a full-time Engineer in Training to support our Land Development group. We are looking for someone with great communication skills who enjoys being part of a team environment. We are seeking a self-starter with a high attention to detail that wants to work in a professional setting advancing their career in civil design.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the preparation of site civil engineering plans and construction documents for land development projects.
- Support engineering design efforts involving: Site layout and geometry, Grading and earthwork design, Storm drainage systems, Stormwater management facilities, Water and sanitary sewer utilities, Roadway and parking lot design, Erosion and sediment control plans.
- Perform engineering calculations related to hydrology, hydraulics, drainage, utilities, and grading.
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software for drafting and design development.
- Conduct hydrology and storm drainage modeling programs.
- Collaborate with other disciplines, project managers and support staff, as well as our clients, to ensure the successful completion of tasks.
Requirements
- Experience in CADD utilizing AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MicroStation.
- Proven teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite products including Word and Excel.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas to peers, senior staff, and clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related curriculum from an ABET accredited school.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain 0–4 years of relevant site civil or land development engineering experience.
- Basic understanding of Site grading, Drainage design, Utility infrastructure, Stormwater management, and Land development permitting processes.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation software is highly preferred.

Pay
$36.00 - $50.00 per hour, depending on experience.
