About the role
As a Civil Engineer in Training in our Community Development Group, you will work on a variety of innovative and diverse land development projects. This position involves working collaboratively with design teams to develop construction plans and specifications, prepare reports and studies, and manage construction activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform civil design and technical tasks on projects under the supervision of the Project Manager or Project Engineer.
- Work with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project.
- Participate in data analysis and calculations to design civil system components.
- Collect data and gather information to support design decisions.
- Perform field work and construction observation under the supervision of a senior engineer/designer and/or construction manager.
- Interpret and verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices.
- Analyze proposed project solutions to ensure reliability, resource efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
- Communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with project team members, clients, and contractors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational understanding of general concepts of civil engineering design.
- Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting and engage in creative and critical thought.
- Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building programs, and other similar materials.
- Good communication skills, attention to detail, and multi-tasking ability.
- Willingness to learn new skills and interface with multiple project managers.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, OneNote, and OneDrive.
- Proficient with AutoCAD and Civil3D.
- Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Credentials
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of related professional work or Co-op/Internship experience preferred.
- Engine-in-Training designation, successful completion of the EIT exam, or the ability to take the EIT exam within six months of starting preferred.
Education and Experience
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Minimum of 2 years of related professional work or Co-op/Internship experience preferred. Engine-in-Training designation, successful completion of the EIT exam, or the ability to take the EIT exam within six months of starting preferred.
Pay
$74,600.00 - $104,400.00 Annually
