Civil Engineer I/II - Permits

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of technical and supportive professional engineering tasks.
• Reviews and recommends approval of plans submitted with permit applications for underground utility installation, construction by other governmental units, and plans for all permit paving.
• Reviews associated drainage.
• Attends meetings with other Road Commission departments and various outside governmental and private agencies relative to permit activities.
• Performs field reviews of proposed construction sites for permit work.
• Reviews and processes residential driveway permit applications.
• Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County.
• Adheres to a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation.
• Regular and predictable onsite job attendance is required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience commensurate with the duties described.
• Experience with Bluebeam and CityWorks is preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
