About the role
Provides civil engineering technical expertise in support of SRP’s hydropower generation assets. Responsible for the planning, design, evaluation, and execution of civil and structural engineering work for dams, waterways, and powerplant infrastructure, ensuring safe, reliable, regulatory-compliant, and cost-effective operation of Hydro Generation facilities. Serves as a technical authority and project leader, working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering disciplines, and external partners to sustain and modernize critical water and energy infrastructure.Responsibilities
- Performs engineering design work and engineering studies.
- Performs as engineering project leader.
- Prepares specifications and evaluates bids.
- Prepares recommendation material for management consideration.
- Administers and reviews work performed by consultants and others.
- Prepares and/or conducts written and oral reports and presentations.
- Performs field engineering work.
- Performs engineering analyses.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience actively engaged in engineering practice.
- Must have demonstrated the successful accomplishment of work of the nature defined for the job of Senior Engineer.
Qualifications
- Responsible for project budgets and schedules.
- Occasional contacts with customers and outside agencies.
- Contact with suppliers of equipment and services.
- Ability to work effectively with various organizational groups within SRP.
- Ability to use engineering tools required for the job (i.e., computer, test equipment, etc.).
Skills
- Proficiency in civil engineering software.
- Knowledge of hydropower systems and operations.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
