Civil Engineer

Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its collaborative team in Richmond, VA. This individual will assist with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Aid in the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects;
• Prepare and modify various engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and equipment;
• Assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data to inform project planning and design;
• Propose new approaches and ideas to enhance project efficiency and service quality;
• Utilize knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics;
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments;
• Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering;
• 1+ years’ experience;
• Minimum 3.0 GPA;
• EIT Certification or current registration for the FE exam;
• US citizenship due to client-mandated requirements for federal government projects;
• Relevant internship or professional experience in site/civil design, including site planning, grading, stormwater management, drainage, and soil erosion;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong attention to detail, analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Pay Range

$68,250 - $93,000 USD

Certain US jurisdictions require Langan to include an estimate of salary or hourly ranges. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.
