Qualifications
- Florida Licensed Professional Engineering (PE).
- A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering discipline, and four (4) years of practical engineering experience, including two (2) years of civil engineering experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Considerable knowledge of civil engineering practices and procedures involving water, wastewater, stormwater, roadway and bridge plan design, or floodplain management.
- Skill in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review the Design-Build contractor's plans and specifications for RFP compliance, constructability, and technical correctness.
- Coincides the work of engineering consultants, reviews, makes a recommendation for changes and makes recommendations for approving plans, specifications, and bidding documents, negotiates change orders, and reviews and approved payments.
- Prepares statements of Qualifications (RFQs) regarding professional engineering, construction inspection, construction management, and materials testing services.
- Subsequently reviews and evaluates SOQs and assists in recommending the selection process, scoping, and negotiating professional services agreements.
- Reviews, analyzes and makes recommendations on accepting/rejecting construction contract bids, attends, and assists in coordinating pre-bid, pre-construction, and construction meetings.
- Maintains construction contracts and professional services agreements, ensure compliance with those agreements and contracts, and processes invoices for work completed under those contracts and agreements.
- Performs other related duties and tasks as necessary or as assigned.
