Civil Engineer

About the role

Aid in the planning, design, and creation of engineering drawings. Supervise the creation of these drawings. Perform specific tasks in creating and assembling specifications. Participate in investigations and planning work by collecting and analyzing data, performing routine calculations, and evaluating the feasibility of alternative solutions.

• Prepare sections of reports under the close supervision of a more experienced professional.
• Participate in projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for compliance with easily understandable specifications; assist in record-keeping and generating progress reports; observe simple construction procedures, and collect samples for quality control testing.
• Acquire and analyze data, research feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
• Prepare material for reports and permit applications, gather information, write rough outlines, and/or prepare work progression documents and graphic presentations.
• Perform engineering calculations.
• Make field observations of construction when appropriate.

Responsibilities

Participate in conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks. These tasks may include collection and analysis of data using established procedures, performance of routine calculations, and participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.

• Prepare assigned sections of reports working under the close review of a more experienced professional.
• Participate on projects involving construction activities by reviewing shop drawings for conformance with easily interpreted specifications; assists in recordkeeping and in generating progress reports; observes relatively simple construction procedures, and collect samples for quality control testing.
• Perform data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
• Prepare material for reports and permit applications, gathering information, writing rough outline, and/or preparing work progression documents and graphic presentations.
• Perform engineering calculations.
• Make field observations of construction when appropriate.

Requirements

0-2 Years of professional experience in a related technical field. Completion of Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university. AutoCAD and Civil 3D knowledge and understanding required. Land Development experience is preferred. Technical writing, computer and communications skills required. ProjectWise, Bluebeam and MS Project knowledge and understanding is a plus. Familiarity with Denver Metro-area development requirements is also a plus.

Qualifications

E.I. or EIT is required.

Skills

AutoCAD and Civil 3D knowledge and understanding required. Land Development experience is preferred. Technical writing, computer and communications skills required. Pay

$75,000 - $85,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
