Are you passionate about the design/build process, enjoy designing and drafting, and like working closely with internal and external clients to ensure construction projects start off on the right foot? ARCO, a family of construction companies, is seeking a highly‑motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to join our Austin market team. This role will play a key part in our design‑build process by performing site due diligence, designing and drafting land‑development concept plans, and guiding clients through the early stages of bringing their buildings to life.

  • Design and draft multi‑building land development concept plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D for commercial and industrial uses.
  • Prepare schematic site plans, grading, and utility plans to illustrate site developability based on learned constraints.
  • Perform stormwater detention analysis, site utility design, and earthwork analysis to inform site planning for cost and constructability.
  • Meet with internal and external customers to review concept plans, discuss advantages of multiple approaches, and define project direction with the design/build contracting team.

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering or another engineering or design discipline.
  • 2–8 years of land‑planning experience in the Austin market.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience; creating templates and styles is a plus.
  • Ability to perform stormwater detention analysis and site‑utility design calculations independently.
  • Ability to read and understand local zoning codes, stormwater management codes, FEMA flood maps, FWS wetland maps, and civil/survey drawings.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus but not required; ARCO/Murray will support EIT licensure pursuit and offers a $5,000 bonus for successful PE licensure.
