This role serves as a lead engineering professional responsible for overseeing land development projects from initial concept through final delivery. The individual manages both the technical execution and client relationships for a variety of site development projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning efforts, develop project scopes, and guide multidisciplinary teams through design, permitting, and construction phases.
  • Oversee the preparation of construction plans and coordinate with internal design staff and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable municipal and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, supporting ongoing communication, managing expectations, and ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, establish priorities, and maintain schedules and budgets.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to overall team success.
  • Deliver high-quality engineering solutions while maintaining strong client partnerships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • EIT (FE Taken); Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan is a plus.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in land development civil engineering projects, including design and project management responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects and supervising engineering or design staff.
  • Strong knowledge of site development, grading, drainage, and utility design.
  • Experience working with municipal agencies and navigating permitting and regulatory approvals.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Experience with SurvCAD or HEC RAS is a plus.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $62.50/hr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
