Civil Drafter
About the role
This role focuses on providing drafting and design support for water resources projects, including water treatment plants and pump stations. The Civil Drafter collaborates closely with engineers and project teams to produce accurate drawings and plans that support grading, yard piping, and related site work.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed civil drawings and plans for water treatment plants and pump stations using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Support the water resources team with design documentation, layout, and plan preparation.
- Assist with grading design and yard piping layouts for water infrastructure projects.
- Update and revise drawings based on engineering markups, design changes, and project requirements.
- Ensure all drawings meet project standards, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Coordinate with engineers and other team members to clarify design intent and resolve drafting issues.
- Organize and maintain drawing files and documentation in an orderly and accessible manner.
Skills
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience creating civil design drawings, particularly for water-related infrastructure such as treatment plants and pump stations.
- Ability to assist with grading and yard piping design and documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and plan preparation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and project team members.
Qualifications
- Prior AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is heavily preferred.
- Experience supporting water resources or civil infrastructure projects.
- Interest in professional growth and advancement within a civil engineering environment.
Work Environment
The position is based in an office setting in Frankfort, Kentucky. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role involves working on a computer with AutoCAD Civil 3D and collaborating with a professional team focused on civil and water resources projects. Pay
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

Schedule
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frankfort, KY, with standard work hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role is fully onsite.
