About the role
The City of Bell Gardens seeks a visionary, collaborative, and results-oriented City Manager to guide the City through its next chapter of growth, innovation, and community investment.
Responsibilities
- Balance long-range vision with day-to-day operational excellence.
- Manage municipal finance, budgeting, revenue diversification, and economic development.
- Lead organizational leadership and community engagement efforts.
- Communicate effectively and build strong partnerships with residents, businesses, and regional stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal government, including five (5) years of management and administrative experience.
- Spanish-speaking ability is highly desirable.
- Prior City Manager or Assistant City Manager experience is preferred.
- Possession of a Master’s Degree in a related field is highly desirable.

Benefits
- Compensation: $316,380 annually DOQ*, plus an attractive executive benefits package.
- A mutually agreeable employment agreement will be negotiated dependent on qualifications and experience.
