City Manager

The City of New Albany, OH (pop. 11,604) seeks its next city manager. The current manager has announced his retirement at the end of the year after 27 years of service.

About the role

New Albany is a dynamic, strategically planned community in Central Ohio, encompassing over seventeen square miles. It includes the New Albany International Business Park, a hub for innovation and investment, and is located near major transportation hubs like John Glenn International Airport and downtown Columbus.

Qualifications

• A minimum of seven years of experience, including a leadership position in a complex community with both a strong residential foundation and a significant commercial component.
• A bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, public policy, or related field; a master's degree in public administration, business administration, planning, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• A collaborative leadership style with knowledge of and practice in effective management concepts, principles, strategies, practices, and techniques.
• A strong financial acumen with experience in development negotiation, business attraction and retention, and a track record of providing a high level of customer service.
• A creative and measured problem-solving approach and well-developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary range is $179,499 - $224,374 depending on qualifications and experience. New Albany offers a competitive benefits package, including:
