City Driver → Driver

About the role

This role involves picking up and delivering freight between Service Centers and customers while supporting sales efforts.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples where applicable
• Perform daily safety inspections and hook/unhook trailers
• Handle freight using motorized and manual equipment, securing cargo with pallets, straps, and ropes
• Verify documentation, comply with hazardous material regulations, and collect freight charges
• Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding deliveries, delays, and needs
• Demonstrate customer service and seek additional business opportunities
• Perform chaining of tires and other operational duties as necessary, adhering to all laws and policies

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with endorsements for doubles/triples, hazardous materials, and tanks
• Minimum of one year recent driving experience or completion of a driver development course
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and compliance with DOT regulations
• Ability to perform basic math, lift up to 100 pounds, and follow instructions
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team

Working conditions

Driving in various weather and road conditions, exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and hazardous materials, with hours varying based on operational needs.
