About the role
Using Six Sigma methodology, you will lead project teams to deliver project cost, quality, and time objectives established by the champion and business unit executives.
Responsibilities
- Identifies key individuals for team membership and secures their availability directly or with assistance from the champion.
- Provides basic Six Sigma training to project team members.
- Applies Six Sigma tools and techniques to measure, analyze, improve, and control project processes.
- Reports on project progress to the Champion and other leadership levels at least weekly or monthly.
- Prepares detailed plans to track project performance and ensures timely completion and achievement of quality and savings goals.
- Identifies barriers to project success and solicits help from Champions when needed.
- Attends required training and acquires needed skills.
- Documents process improvements and shares best practices with other Black Belts.
- Identifies and brings forward new project opportunities to the Champion.
- Actively participates in Health/Safety/Environmental investigations and the 8D process to develop root cause analysis for problem resolution.
- Ensures required Safety Audits are completed for you and your team.
- Reports accidents, occupational illnesses, and HSE&E emergencies, and informs supervisors of known conditions that could adversely affect team members, assets, or the public.
- Ensures compliance with all safety procedures and safe working practices in assigned production areas.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in industrial engineering.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing.
Primary location: West Point Facility.
