Churchill Summer Internship: Responsible Investing
About the role
Churchill, an investment-specialist affiliate of Nuveen, seeks a rising Junior or Senior (Class of 2028 or 2029) to support ESG data analytics and reporting. The role involves evaluating ESG KPIs across portfolio companies, maintaining and streamlining the ESG database, documenting ESG risks and opportunities in investment committee meetings, and assisting with RI DDQs and RFPs for the Investor Solutions Group & Client Services team.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate ESG key performance indicators (KPIs) across new and existing portfolio companies
- Maintain and streamline the ESG database, improving data collection and reporting
- Attend investment committee meetings across Senior Lending, Private Equity, and Junior Capital businesses to document key ESG risks and opportunities
- Provide support for RI DDQs and RFPs for the Investor Solutions Group & Client Services team
Requirements
- Rising Junior or Senior (Class of 2028 or 2029) expected to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Climate and Sustainability Management, Economics, Environmental Management, or other financial sustainability-focused curriculum
- Strong attention to detail; careful review of facts and figures, quick to identify errors, and ensure consistency of information
- Familiarity with private credit markets, investment strategies, and asset classes is a plus
- Outstanding interpersonal and written communication skills; effective and strong active listening skills
- Proven track record of success collaborating in a fast-paced, results-driven team environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills with an ability to negotiate, influence, and gain credibility
- Innovative and creative thinker; ability to make connections among previously unrelated notions and project how potential ideas may play out

Pay
Base pay is $30.00 per hour. Actual base salary may vary based upon relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
