Chocolate Technologist
Job Summary
The Chocolate Technologist is responsible for developing and renovating chocolate products from concept to commercialization. They support the confections business and are expected to work independently, growing their skills in product formulation and innovation.

Responsibilities
- Develop and/or renovate product formulas (internal or co-manufactured) and ingredients as needed
- Create hand-made/bench top samples of new and/or existing products
- Conduct shelf life studies and sensory evaluation tests
- Support raw material supplier set up and qualification
- Execute factory trials and write technical reports with recommendations
- Collaborate with external ingredient suppliers
- Independently analyze data and write technical reports with recommendations
- Independently plan and lead plant trials (internal or co-manufactured)
Requirements
- BS in food science, food technology, chemistry, chemical/biological/food engineering or closely related degree
- 3-5+ years of related experience in Product Development taking products from concept to commercialization
- Previous industrial chocolate experience highly preferred
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Experience with product and recipe systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
