Children's Librarian

About the role

This role involves providing library services to children and their families. The successful candidate will assist in organizing and maintaining children’s collections, promoting literacy, and facilitating reading programs.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain children’s collections
• Promote literacy and reading programs
• Facilitate reading groups and workshops
• Assist patrons with library resources and services
• Participate in community outreach events

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or related field
• Experience working with children and families
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Knowledge of children’s literature and reading development
• Experience with library management systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Passionate about fostering a love of reading
