Children's Cooking Instructor Substitute

Sticky Fingers Cooking® of Northern Colorado is seeking a PRN (as needed) After School Children's Cooking Teacher to help cultivate culinary curiosity in kids aged 3-18.

About the role

This flexible, part-time position is ideal for someone with an open schedule who enjoys working with children on an as-needed basis. Classes are typically held on weekdays from 2-5 PM.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a substitute for Chef Instructors.
• Lead hands-on cooking classes, teaching kids how to chop, mix, measure, and create healthy recipes from around the world.
• Introduce kids to new ingredients, cuisines, and cultures in an engaging, interactive way.
• Prepare for classes using provided curricula, shop for fresh ingredients, and set up safe kitchen environments.
• Inspire and encourage kids as they gain confidence in the kitchen.
• Arrive on campus 20-30 minutes prior to scheduled class time (varies per school).
• Manage groups of 8-14 kids in 1-hour classes (90+ minutes on campus).

Requirements

• Experience working with kids of various ages and backgrounds.
• Availability to teach at least 5 days a week between 2-5 PM, Mondays-Fridays.
• Punctual, reliable, and comfortable managing groups of children.
• Ability to commit to teaching sessions that run 4-12 weeks.
• Willingness to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs to store and transport materials.
• Must have a reliable vehicle and be able to drive.
• Must pass a fingerprint background check.

• Competitive pay: $60 for a one-hour class plus food reimbursement.
• Accrued leave: Up to 48 hours of paid leave per year (1 hour earned per 30 hours worked).
• Public Health Emergency (PHE) leave: Up to 80 hours of PHE-related leave when declared.
