About the role
SFC Jacksonville Inc., dba Sticky Fingers Cooking® of Northeast Florida is seeking a part-time After School Children's Cooking Instructor to cultivate 'cool'inary curiosity in kids through engaging cooking classes.
Responsibilities
- Teach hour-long healthy and engaging cooking enrichment classes for students aged 3-18
- Create and teach creative recipes focusing on new ingredients and healthy foods from around the world
- Prepare for instruction by reviewing weekly class curricula, shopping for fresh ingredients, and teaching basic kitchen skills
- Engage and guide children in a dynamic hands-on learning environment
- Teach healthy food habits to promote lifelong nourishment
Requirements
- Availability at least 2 days a week (Monday - Friday, between 1-5 pm)
- Commitment to teaching full sessions (ranging from 4-12 weeks)
- ServSafe Food Handler Certification (can obtain before teaching)
- Ability to manage and engage a group of 8-14 children with diverse backgrounds and academic levels
Qualifications
- Pass a background check
- Reliable transportation
- Timely communication with the team
- Punctuality and reliability
- No professional cooking experience required, but experience working with kids of varying ages is a plus
