Children's Cooking Instructor

SFC Colorado Springs LLC dba Sticky Fingers Cooking® of Colorado Springs is looking to hire part-time After School Children's Cooking Instructors to help us Cultivate COOLinary Curiosity in Kids®! Are you ready to turn up the excitement and introduce kids to new ingredients and tastes in the kitchen?

About the role

As a part-time After School Children's Cooking Instructor, you are the face of our company, interacting with children ages 3-18, parents, and school staff each week. You work on-site at different locations in your area, leading hour-long healthy and engaging cooking enrichment classes for students.

• Create creative recipes and teach children about new ingredients and healthy foods from around the world in an engaging, hands-on way.
• Review weekly class curricula and prepare for instruction, including shopping independently for fresh ingredients.
• Teach basic kitchen skills: washing, cutting, grating, stirring, measuring, nutrition, and the history, geography, and language behind each recipe.
• Provide direction and encouragement in a dynamic hands-on environment where kids create a new recipe each class.
• Instill healthy food habits that will nourish children’s bodies and minds for a lifetime.

Requirements

• Availability at least 2 days a week (Monday - Friday, between 2-5 pm).
• Commitment to teaching full sessions (ranging from 4-12 weeks).
• ServSafe Food Handler Certification (can obtain before teaching).
• Ability to manage and engage a group of 8-14 children with diverse backgrounds and academic levels.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Timely communication with our team.
• Punctual and reliable.
• No professional cooking experience required; experience working with kids of varying ages is a plus.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required by districts and schools.
