Job Responsibilities
- Maintains all ledgers and journals for Children and Youth to meet standard accounting procedures as well as state regulations.
- Maintains all subsidiary ledgers, computer databases and card files to substantiate quarterly expenditure reports.
- Prepares weekly expense vouchers.
- Acts as a liaison between the County Controller’s Office and the Agency for processing and payment of expenditures.
- Posts weekly expense vouchers to agency’s accounting system utilizing a complex accounting structure.
- Assists in the preparation of quarterly Title IV-E and TANF reports.
- Assists the fiscal officer in preparing the quarterly reconciliation between the Agency’s accounting records and the County’s accounting records.
- Determines proper posting of Resource and Adoptive Family Payrolls to appropriate cost centers.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Title IV-E and TANF eligibility requirements to determine child specific funding sources.
- Maintains updated knowledge of reimbursement rates, allowable and unallowable costs.
- Maintains information pertaining to income for foster children (SSI, SS, Parent Support).
- Responsibility for the establishment and review of internal processing procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- One year as a Fiscal Assistant or three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices and graduation from high school, OR one year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration, OR any equivalent combination of experience and training.
