Childcare Teacher

General Description

The Childcare Teacher reports to The Children's Center Manager. The duties of the Childcare Teacher include, but are not limited to, hands-on instruction and high-quality care of children between six (6) weeks and five (5) years of age within the childcare program. The position shall exemplify the desired Culture of Choice® and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Implementation of daily lesson plans through facilitation and participation with children in group activities to promote child development in all areas: cognitive, social, emotional, physical, language, and daily living skills.
• Assesses each child's growth and development, and implements a plan to meet each child's individual needs.
• Responsible for writing and posting the daily schedules and lesson plans.
• Provides supervision to Childcare Teacher Assistant and classroom volunteers.
• Maintains positive staff and parent relationships. May be asked to participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop individual plans for the children.
• Assists children with self-care activities.
• Adheres to policies as set; provides input on policy development.
• Develops and maintains professionalism with the children, parents, employees and partners.
• Meets or exceeds yearly requirements for continuing education.
• Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
• Knows fire, disaster, and safety procedure and regulations as it pertains to work area.

Requirements

• Formal Education: High School diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• Work Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience in an early childhood program.
• Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations: AHCA fingerprint clearance required. For additional information, please refer to: https://info.flclearinghouse.com
• DCF 45 hour Introductory Training within 12 months of hire.
• Staff credential within 24 months of hire.
