About the Role
The Childcare Provider 2 assists the Childcare Specialist with planning and supervising the before and after school program for children.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, and the community.
- Prepare the site and activities prior to children’s arrival.
- Supervise children at all times.
- Administer first aid when necessary.
- Treat every child with respect and maintain behavior consistent with district and program policy.
- Keep the Childcare Specialist informed of student activities.
- Participate in clean-up activities.
- Complete a minimum of 18 verifiable hours of approved training annually per Department of Health Services regulations.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must meet staff qualifications to be a teacher-caregiver under section R9-5-401 of the Arizona Administrative Code.
- Must be 18 years of age or older and provide written documentation of one of the following:
- A high school diploma or equivalency and six months of qualifying childcare experience; or
- At least 12 credit hours from an accredited college or university, including at least 6 credits in early childhood education, and six months of qualifying childcare experience; or
- N.A.C., C.D.A., C.C.P., or C.P.C. credential; or
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood, child development, or a closely related field.
- Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC).
- Background in early childhood education or related fields.
- Hold current first aid and CPR certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.

Pay
Pay Grade: F (FLSA: Non-Exempt). Return-to-work retirees will have an hourly rate approximately 9% lower than listed without falling below minimum wage.
