About the role
The Childcare Program Manager oversees the daily operations of the childcare program at Charisma’s Heart, ensuring that children receive a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the childcare program, ensuring compliance with regulations and providing a nurturing environment.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula and activities that support the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate childcare staff, including teachers, assistants, and volunteers.
- Ensure the childcare program complies with all local, state, and federal regulations, including licensing requirements, health and safety standards, and child protection laws.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular communication and support.
- Assist in developing and managing the childcare program budget, monitor expenditures, and prepare reports for funders and regulatory agencies.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the childcare program, make recommendations for improvements, and implement changes as needed.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to children and families as needed.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners and service providers to enhance program services and opportunities for children and families.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education or childcare program management.
- Experience working with low-income or vulnerable populations, particularly children, is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in curriculum development and child development best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
- Proficiency in using childcare management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of child development principles, early childhood education practices, and issues faced by low-income families.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to childcare programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Work, or a related field required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
