Childcare Assistant - E. Brainerd
About the Role
Join Chambliss Center for Children and work with children ages infant through 4 years old in a unique early learning classroom located inside Hamilton County Schools. These classrooms operate inside Hamilton County Schools but are managed by Chambliss Center for Children, creating an innovative partnership that helps expand access to high-quality early childhood education.

Monday - Friday, 10am - 1pm - Chambliss Center at East Side Elementary, 1603 S. Lyerly Street, Chattanooga TN 37404
Monday - Friday, 11am-1pm
Pay
Starting pay is based on education and experience:
- $11.00/hour - High School Diploma, no childcare experience required
- $13.00/hour - Child Development Associate (CDA)
- More with additional education and/or experience
Schedule
Part-time schedule during the school year. Off during school breaks and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in a safe, nurturing environment
- Assist with classroom activities that support children's learning and development
- Help maintain an organized and welcoming classroom
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Support the teaching team with daily classroom responsibilities
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a fingerprint background check
- Experience working with children in a classroom setting is helpful but not required
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and coworkers
