About the role
The NC Department of Health and Human Services seeks contract resources to prepare and provide support for County Child Welfare staff during the implementation of the statewide Child Welfare Information system (CWIS).
Responsibilities
- Facilitate meetings, conferences, and other activities to advocate for, as well as foster and maintain effective communication with state and county staff regarding CWIS concerns impacting or related to Child Welfare.
- Coordinate with other CWIS business, policy, and project team members to troubleshoot, replicate, and report errors and/or unexpected outcomes within the CWIS and/or escalate to management as they arise.
- Use policy subject matter expertise regarding NC Child Welfare, knowledge of CWIS/NC FAST functionality, as well as understanding of how counties provide delivery of services to guide new users as they navigate and submit data into the new system.

- Change management
- Microsoft Suite (including, but not limited to PowerPoint, Excel, & Outlook)
Preferred skills
- Knowledge of NC Child Welfare policy
- SharePoint
- JIRA
Benefits
Travel expenses are reimbursed using the state’s protocol for submitting expenses after travel. The contractor will, at the direction of management, either ride with an employee driving a state vehicle or drive their personal vehicle and be reimbursed mileage after travel. Per diem is paid directly to the contractor and most hotel expenses are direct billed through the state.
