Child Welfare Readiness Liaison :: Durham, NC

Job Summary

The NC Department of Health and Human Services seeks a Readiness Liaison to support the implementation of the Child Welfare Information System (CWIS) across North Carolina counties. This role involves extensive statewide travel and collaboration with county staff to ensure successful system adoption.

About the Role

This position acts as an integral part of Readiness and Implementation Support initiatives, facilitating meetings, conferences, and communication between state and county staff regarding CWIS concerns impacting or related to Child Welfare.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate meetings, conferences, and other activities to advocate for and foster effective communication with state and county staff regarding CWIS concerns impacting or related to Child Welfare.
• Coordinate with other CWIS business, policy, and project team members to troubleshoot, replicate, and report errors and/or unexpected outcomes within the CWIS and escalate issues to management as needed.
• Guide new users as they navigate and submit data into the new system using policy subject matter expertise regarding NC Child Welfare and understanding of how counties provide delivery of services.

Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Change management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of NC Child Welfare policy.
• Experience with SharePoint and JIRA.

Benefits

Travel expenses are reimbursed using the state's protocol for submitting expenses after travel. The contractor will either ride with an employee driving a state vehicle or drive their personal vehicle and be reimbursed mileage after travel. Per diem is paid directly to the contractor and most hotel expenses are direct billed through the state.
