The Childrens Services Assistant role works both hands on with children and also administratively in an office setting. The main function of the Child Services Assistant is to schedule, conduct, and score developmental screenings for children ages birth to 5 years old.

Responsibilities

• Calling perspective families or daycare centers and childrens groups to schedule them for a date to have a screening conducted.
• Following the provided screener tool to evaluate hearing, speech, motor skills, and cognitive areas.
• Sharing the results of the screening to the parents in a professional manner.
• Providing parents with information on developmentally appropriate activities, services, and child development.
• Traveling throughout the assigned area to conduct meetings and screenings.
• Office duties include answering the telephone, using Microsoft Outlook to schedule appointments, track screenings in a database or excel file, create reports, type letters, etc.
