Pay

$18.11 - $19.74 per hour / $3,139 - $3,421 per month (CSEA General Unit Salary Schedule)

Schedule

• Part-time, 12 months/year (260 days/year, 5 days/week)
• 4-hour workday: Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Child Development Assistant (School Age) positions are entry-level roles working with Discovery Club.

Requirements

Provide information and documentation with your application demonstrating relevant experience and/or education for this position. Preferred qualifications (not required) include:

• Proof of Associate Teacher Permit (ATP) from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
• Higher education with completion of college units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) (6 ECE units desirable)
• Previous experience working with school-age children ages 5-12

If providing transcripts, they must be OFFICIAL. Foreign transcripts must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.

Materials Required

• Completed application listing relevant experience, education, and/or training
• Optional but desirable: Proof of ATP from the CTC, proof of higher education, and proof of completion of 6 ECE units

If you do not hold an ATP permit, you must demonstrate eligibility by attaching:

• OFFICIAL transcripts showing completion of 2 years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units) and 12 units of ECE/Child Development courses (including core courses)
• Proof of at least 50 days of instructional experience in a childcare program (minimum 3 hours/day within the last 2 years) on official employer letterhead
