About the role
Location: Coyle ECE. One opening. Permanent, part‑time Child Development Assistant (Head Start, State Preschool) – Calendar 20 position.
Requirements
- Must pre‑qualify by either:
- Option 1: Hold a valid Associate Teacher Permit (ATP) issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) and attach a copy showing the permit number.
- Option 2: If you do not hold such a permit, you must demonstrate qualification for the ATP by attaching:
- Official transcripts showing completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units) with at least 12 units in ECE/Child Development core courses.
- Proof of at least 50 days’ instructional experience in a childcare/development program, working ≥3 hours per day within the last 2 years, on official employer letterhead.
Qualifications
- Proof of Associate Teacher Permit (ATP) from the CTC (preferred).
- Higher education with college units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) desirable.
- Completion of 6 ECE units desirable.
- Previous experience working with school‑age children ages 5‑12.
- Experience working with infant/toddler children ages 0‑3 and/or preschool children ages 3‑5 is sought.
Pay
$18.11 – $20.65 per hour (equivalent to $3,254 – $3,580 per month).
Schedule
- Work year: Calendar 20 – approximately 9 months/year, 202 days/year, 5 days/week.
- Work day: 4 hours.
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
