Summary Description Of Work

At Heartland Family Service, Clinical Supervisors are experienced clinicians responsible for promoting the professional development and practice of agency therapists. They manage caseloads and provide supervision, training, and support to a team of therapists.

Responsibilities

• Hires, supervises, and evaluates assigned staff
• Maintains client clinical records and treatment plans
• Manages day-to-day clinical operations, including staffing and crisis coverage
• Supports clinicians in comprehensive assessments, diagnostics, and treatment recommendations
• Provides mental health crisis intervention as needed
• Supports clinicians in establishing and completing treatment plans
• Monitors and documents clinician progress
• Supervises assigned caseload with a range of supervision percentages
• Supports clinicians in developing learning activities and addressing areas of need
• Collaborates with other programs and external providers for referrals and follow-up
• Coaches clinicians to ensure prompt and accurate completion of required reports and statistics
• Models a courteous and caring attitude towards clients, volunteers, and visitors
• Develops and maintains a personal self-care plan and promotes work-life balance
• Participates in fundraising and community engagement initiatives

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling or related field
• Five years of experience as a therapist
• Independent Licensure in the State of Iowa and Nebraska or Independent License Eligible (LMHC, LISW or LMFT)
• Supervisory experience of multi-faceted teams preferred

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license/acceptable driving record

Skills

• Experience in providing clinical support to clinicians offering outpatient services
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles
• Ability to manage caseloads and supervise multiple therapists
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in clinical documentation and reporting

Benefits

Compensation: Between $58,000 and $73,376 per year (salary is determined by total years of relevant experience)
