Summary Description Of Work

At Heartland Family Service, Clinical Supervisors are experienced clinicians responsible for promoting the professional development and practice of agency therapists. They manage caseloads and provide supervision, while also managing day-to-day clinical operations and supporting clinicians in comprehensive assessments and treatment planning.

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibility for clinical supervision, including hiring, supervision, development, performance evaluation, documentation, and quality improvement initiatives (QIT)
• Day-to-day clinical management, such as crisis access and coverage, staffing, fidelity, and implementing new models
• Supporting clinicians in comprehensive assessments, diagnostic oversight, and treatment recommendations
• Mentoring clinicians in providing counseling services and monitoring progress
• Providing mental health crisis intervention as needed
• Producing assigned level of direct service hours
• Supporting clinicians in establishing and completing treatment plans, with client participation
• Maintaining clinical records that meet established standards of timeliness and completeness
• Handling cases of high complexity
• Maintaining relationships with external and internal providers for a wraparound approach for clients
• Collaborating with and maintaining consistent communication with all internal programs for interviews and onboarding of clinicians
• Tracking and modifying progress updates/completions of clinicians' learning processes
• Supporting the progress, evaluation, documentation, and feedback of clinicians, including areas of need
• Problem-solving and supporting internal staff that supervise other clinicians
• Maintaining communication with clinicians and understanding their level of learning to pivot to their needs
• Offering coaching to clinicians for prompt and accurate completion of all required reports, statistics, and other requirements
• Role modeling a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the Agency
• Creating, maintaining, and sharing a dynamic self-care plan and helping clinicians develop appropriate work-life balance
• Striving to make connections between the agency and the larger community whenever possible in order to contribute to the agency's ongoing fundraising and friend-raising efforts

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling or related field
• 5 years of experience as a therapist
• Independent Licensure in the State of Iowa of Independent License Eligible (LMHC, LISW or LMFT) required; CDAC/IADC preferred
• Supervisory experience of multi-faceted team preferred
• Valid driver’s license/acceptable driving record

Pay

$58,000 - $73,376 per year (salary is determined by total years of relevant experience)
