Summary Description Of Work
At Heartland Family Service, Clinical Supervisors are experienced clinicians responsible for promoting the professional development and practice of agency therapists. They manage caseloads and provide supervision, training, and support to ensure high-quality care.
Responsibilities
- Supports clinicians in comprehensive assessments, diagnostic oversight, and treatment recommendations.
- Maintains client clinical records with treatment plans, progress summaries, and terminations.
- Manages day-to-day clinical operations, including crisis access and coverage, staffing, and fidelity.
- Supervises assigned staff, including clinical interns, and conducts performance evaluations.
- Develops and adapts learning activities for clinicians based on their needs.
- Collaborates with other programs and external providers to support clients and maintain communication.
- Ensures timely and accurate billing for clinical services and manages referrals.
- Supports clinicians in completing required reports and statistics.
- Models a courteous and caring attitude and fosters a positive work environment.
Requirements
- Masters Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling or related field.
- Five years of experience as a therapist.
- Independent Licensure in the State of Iowa and Nebraska or Independent License Eligible (LMHC, LISW or LMFT).
- Supervisory experience of multi-faceted teams preferred.
- Valid drivers license/acceptable driving record.
Qualifications
- Training in supervision and management encouraged.
- Full-time clinical supervisor supervises 12 FTE therapists.
Skills
- Experience in providing clinical support to clinicians.
- Ability to handle complex cases and crisis intervention.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
Benefits
Compensation range: $58,000 - $73,376 per year (salary determined by total years of relevant experience).
Pay

Schedule
Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
