Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Medical Director – View Hospital
About the role
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Medical Director – View Hospital provides clinical and operational leadership for inpatient psychiatry services at View Hospital, including program development, direct patient care, quality oversight, interdisciplinary coordination, and support of the academic mission of UCR School of Medicine.
Requirements
Educational Requirements: Possession of the education and legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance. Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution.
Experience Requirements: Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program. Board Certification in Psychiatry. Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Demonstrated clinical experience in inpatient psychiatry. Experience providing care in adult inpatient psychiatry and/or child & adolescent inpatient psychiatry settings. Prior leadership experience in inpatient behavioral health, psychiatric service lines, or hospital-based psychiatry programs. Experience in behavioral health inpatient and outpatient settings. Experience in program development, clinical operations, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Experience in academic medicine, clinical teaching, and mentorship of learners.
Additional Requirements: Advanced communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with staff and patients from diverse ethnic/racial backgrounds, educational levels, sexual orientations and identities. Ability to stay abreast of new medical knowledge, and to maintain and increase expertise and skills as relevant to clinical practice. Ability to work independently under general direction and to work collaboratively with others. Computer proficiency and first-hand experience in using electronic health records systems to document patient interactions and coordinate care.
Qualifications
Required: Current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Must meet UC and affiliated hospital credentialing requirements.

Pay
The full salary range for the Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist positions are:
Associate Physician Diplomate (board certified + 1 year exp): $163,400 - $400,300; expected pay scale for this position is up to $330,000 annually.
Associate Physician (board eligible + 1 year exp): $142,100 - $348,100; expected pay scale for this position is up to $315,000 annually.
Assistant Physician (board eligible): $123,500 - $302,600; expected pay scale for this position is up to $290,000 annually.
Schedule
These annual rates are at 100% FTE appointment. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure, certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
