About the Role

This full-time position (40 hours per week) is located at 1500 Route 88, Brick, New Jersey, within the PCCF - Children's Program. The Advanced Practice Nurse will provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic impressions, and medication management under the supervision of a collaborating physician, focusing on children and adolescents ages 5 to 21.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial and subsequent psychiatric assessments, including evaluation, diagnosis, prescription, and administration of medication under the supervision of a collaborative physician.
  • Provide education on medication needs, dosage, administration, and potential adverse reactions to clients and guardians.
  • Offer training and consultation to program staff, including medical direction for case assessment, treatment plans, and service provision.
  • Work effectively with a full spectrum of diagnostic disorders.
  • Demonstrate clinical expertise in psychotropic medication use, side effects, and indications for psychiatric intervention in children, adolescents, and adults.
  • Initiate and evaluate diagnostic tests.
  • Conduct drug utilization evaluation and monitoring to inform the prescribing process.
  • Review client medications for efficacy, potential side effects, contraindications, and identification of alcohol and/or drug use as part of the evaluation.
  • Maintain accurate and timely record-keeping, including documentation of all medications prescribed and used by the person served.
  • Include clients, parents, or guardians in medication-related decisions and ensure medication consents are signed in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
  • Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Nursing or a related mental health field.
  • Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as either a Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
  • All required NJ licensures, CDS, and DEA certifications.
  • Experience working with child and adolescent patient populations required.
  • Bilingual is a plus.

Pay

$164,800.00 per year.
