Chief Operating Officer
Essential Responsibilities
Serve as a strategic partner to the President/CEO in executing the organization's mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
Lead the implementation and continuous evaluation of the organization's strategic plan and operational goals.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Advise the President/CEO and Board of Directors on operational performance, organizational capacity, and strategic initiatives.
Represent OIC of South Florida with funders, government agencies, community partners, and key stakeholders.
Provide executive oversight of all operational functions to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and organizational sustainability.
Direct operations across multiple locations in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties while supporting future organizational growth.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and operational systems that strengthen organizational performance.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success and drive informed decision-making.
Lead organizational change initiatives that improve efficiency, service delivery, and employee engagement.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required. Master's degree (MBA, MPA, or related discipline) strongly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive executive leadership experience with responsibility for organizational operations, strategic planning, and administrative management. Experience leading complex organizations, preferably within nonprofit, workforce development, education, human services, or similarly mission-driven environments. Demonstrated success leading organizational growth, operational transformation, and cross-functional teams. Experience managing government-funded contracts, grants, and regulatory compliance preferred.

Strong strategic planning, organizational development, and operational management skills. Demonstrated financial acumen with experience managing budgets and organizational resources. Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development abilities. Exceptional project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to build productive relationships with boards, executive leadership, employees, funders, government agencies, and community partners. Knowledge of nonprofit governance, contract administration, grant management, compliance, and risk management. High degree of integrity, professionalism, sound judgment, and commitment to the mission of OIC of South Florida.
