Chief Operating Officer
We’re looking for a seasoned operator to help lead Movers+Shakers through rapid growth and transformation. This hands-on role partners closely with the founders and executive team to operationalize our disruptive vision, scale team capacity, and manage margin while meeting client demand. The ideal candidate thrives in hyper-growth environments (50%+ per year), enjoys taming chaos, and loves doing what the industry believes is impossible.

Movers+Shakers is a next-generation creative agency built for the era of social and agility. We act as a creative AOR, influencer agency, and production house, driving cultural relevance with Gen Z and Millennials. Our clients—including e.l.f., Netflix, Tinder, and Amazon—rely on us to win on social and beyond, with over 250 billion views generated across explosive brand campaigns and viral daily content. Responsibilities
- Partner with founders and executive team to operationalize the agency’s vision, push back strategically, and steer the company to success.
- Manage rapid growth by scaling team capacity in line with client demand, building and reinventing processes, and balancing margin.
- Serve as the agency’s EOS Integrator, harmonizing functions and keeping teams aligned with goals and priorities.
- Work with founders and leadership to plan, prioritize, and implement transformation and growth initiatives.
- Create healthy tension between big dreams and operational practicality, ensuring client delight while maintaining operational success.
- Boost creative output quality by improving team models and delivery processes in partnership with the CCO and ECD.
- Lead P&L planning with the CEO and finance lead, balancing staff costs, growth investments, and margin.
- Guide the agency in tracking financial targets and adjusting course as needed.
- Design and stand up teams to service large AOR wins.
- Nurture a culture of excellence, joy, and possibility across the agency.
- Build strong relationships with Stagwell (our parent company), including leadership and sister agencies.
Qualifications
- Open to hiring at various senior leadership levels (COO, EVP, SVP) based on experience.
- Optimistic, nurturing, collaborative, and decisive leader.
- Energized by AI integration and experienced in reinventing service offerings/workflows to be AI-centric (a plus).
- 20+ years of experience in marketing agencies, primarily at creative and/or social agencies; client-side experience is a plus.
- Expertise in project management, staff planning, resource management, and pricing.
- Skilled in financial planning & analysis.
- Experience at rapidly growing agencies (50–200 people).
- Experience partnering with founders and serving as an EOS Integrator (a big plus).
- Knowledge of legal issues and best practices for creative agencies.
- Passion for spreading joy and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Pay
Estimated base salary ranges:
- SVP, Operations: $250,000–$300,000
- COO: $275,000–$325,000
Actual compensation packages include a bonus structure and are based on skill and experience. We assess candidates holistically and may offer a more senior or junior position based on fit. All levels have defined compensation ranges, and we ensure pay equity across the company. We welcome open conversations about compensation during initial calls.
