Chief of Staff to the CEO
About H3X Technologies
H3X is building America's advanced electric motor company, powering next-generation platforms in aerospace, defense, and marine. Our integrated motor drives deliver 12+ kW/kg, roughly 3x the power density of competing solutions. We're now scaling to megawatt-class systems, with customers working on everything from supersonic aircraft to turbine power generation for AI datacenters. Our team brings together engineers and operators from aerospace, defense, and motorsports, with deep expertise in electric machines, power electronics, material science, and advanced manufacturing. We're a small, fast-moving team doing hard engineering that matters, and we're looking for people who want to do the best work of their careers alongside us.
About The Role
We are looking for a Chief of Staff to work directly with our CEO and act as a force multiplier across the business. This is a high-ownership, high-variety role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and is equally comfortable building a financial model, untangling a broken internal process, drafting an investor update, or jumping on a customer call. You will operate at the intersection of strategy and execution, translating the CEO's priorities into concrete action, and bringing structure, data, and rigor to a company that's still writing its own playbook.
What You Will Do
Business Operations & Financial Planning: Partner with the CEO on financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting; build and maintain financial models to support decision-making
Own Notion as the company's system of record. Drive documentation hygiene, structure, and consistent adoption across every team
Track key company and departmental metrics; build dashboards and reporting that give leadership a clear, real-time view of the business
Build internal automation and stand up AI-driven workflows to support sales, financials, manufacturing, and operations
Identify operational bottlenecks and drive resolution, often by rolling up your sleeves and doing the work yourself before handing it off
Customer & Business Development: Support backend sales/BD operations including quoting, pipeline management, customer communications, and order acknowledgments
Support the CEO and BD team on proposal development and deal support
Prepare materials for customer and partner meetings, including research and follow-up
Investor Relations & Fundraising: Maintain and support relationships with existing investors, including regular updates, data requests, and board materials
Support the fundraising process end-to-end: data room management, financial/operational diligence, investor targeting research, and pitch materials
Help prepare board decks, investor updates, and other recurring communications
General CEO Support: Act as a trusted thought partner to the CEO on strategic priorities and special projects
Represent the CEO's priorities across teams, ensuring alignment and follow-through on key initiatives
Take on ad hoc, cross-functional projects wherever the business needs help
What We Are Looking For
- 3–7+ years of experience in a high-growth startup, investment banking/consulting, venture capital, or similar high-rigor environment
- Deeply AI-fluent. You have personally built agents or AI workflows that replaced real manual work, not just experimented with chatbots
- Some engineering, technical, or systems background is a strong plus
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills; comfortable in spreadsheets, data analysis, and building reporting/dashboards from scratch
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and switch context quickly without dropping quality
- Excellent written and verbal communication. You will be drafting investor updates, customer emails, and internal comms, often in the CEO's voice
- A builder's mindset: comfortable creating processes and systems where none exist, and iterating quickly
- High degree of trust, discretion, and judgment. You will have visibility into sensitive financial, strategic, and investor information
- Startup experience strongly preferred; comfort with ambiguity, fast pace, and shifting priorities is essential
- Bias toward action and ownership. If you see something broken or missing, you fix it
Why H3X
Joining H3X means working on hard, meaningful problems with a skunkworks-style team that's laser-focused on building exceptional products. We're deeply vertically integrated and have a very tight design-build-test loop, which lets us move from concept to hardware at unmatched speed. We've gone from idea to shipping product in less than two months. We're a small, highly skilled team where everyone carries real responsibility and shares an extreme ownership mentality. We stay focused on the critical path, keep bureaucracy to a minimum, and structure everything around delivering results. You'll learn and grow faster here than you would anywhere else. You'll work alongside world-class engineers and builders who are pioneering electric motor technology at scale on some of the coolest programs in the industry, from supersonic aircraft to power generation for AI datacenters. If you want your contributions to be visible and your work to directly shape American reindustrialization, you'll feel at home here.
