About the Role

Northwell Health’s Division of Rheumatology is seeking a Chief of Rheumatology for Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, NY. Northern Westchester Hospital, a 245-bed acute care hospital, offers a wide range of medical-surgical, inpatient, and outpatient services. Improving and protecting community health is central to the mission. Northern Westchester Hospital serves as a clinical campus for the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and launched its first class of internal medicine residents in June 2024 as it transitions into an academic tertiary center in the region.

The Division of Rheumatology consists of over 50 rheumatologists across the New York area and focuses on outpatient activities, with opportunities for inpatient consultations, teaching, and scholarly work. The division shares a common administration, electronic record, and weekly virtual educational events.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the growth and improvement of Rheumatology, Immunology, and Allergy services, including inpatient and ambulatory care.
  • Supervise clinical care and staff, ensuring all maintain active credentials.
  • Supervise Internal Medicine residents during elective rotations in Rheumatology.
  • Develop and manage care coordination among healthcare providers.
  • Enhance Northwell Northern Westchester Hospital’s visibility locally, nationally, and internationally.
  • Implement quality management activities and maintain quality assurance programs.
  • Design and implement educational programs and curricula for the department and the Internal Medicine residency program.
  • Conduct and develop medical research projects.
  • Participate in strategic planning, physician recruitment, credentialing, and marketing.
  • Stay updated on current trends and maintain professional ethics and clinical competency.
