About the role

Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital is committed to providing exceptional and compassionate care to best address the medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges for individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is a senior member of the hospital leadership team, and actively participates in the oversight and establishment of best practices and standards for hospital clinical services.

Responsibilities

Manages the nursing teams to provide the highest quality of care and service for the patients
Coordinates nursing with other patient care and support functions to assure optimum delivery of health care
Provides leadership and guidance in establishing standards for nursing and other clinical services
Steers progressive clinical excellence through staff development
Shares responsibility for employee engagement, recruitment and retention
Provides nursing care to patients with acute medical conditions
Actively assigns nursing personnel, serves as a resource person and consultant
Implements company standards of care, policies, and procedures
Ensures all regulatory requirements are met
Creates and implements schedule for safe staffing
Works collaboratively with hospital leadership and other departments to achieve the best patient outcomes

Requirements

BSN required
MSN or equivalent Masters in Healthcare or enrollment in a Masters program required
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse required
3-5 years of hospital nursing experience required
3 or more years of experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity required
Certified BLS completed on date of hire required
ACLS required within 6 months of hire

Preferred Experience

Three years of RN experience in rehabilitation nursing preferred
CRRN required when eligible
