Key Responsibilities:Provide on-demand legal services and staff supervisionManagement of 185 regulationsClaims and litigation managementPoint of contact for the Governor’s office, NGOs and constituentsProvide recommendations for legislative changes, provide legislative testimonyManage preventative law programEnsure compliance with KOMA, and review and KORA requestsOther duties as assigned Benefits: Health and Insurance: Immediate group health, dental and vision coverage and life insurance coverage.Retirement and Options: Retirement plan and optional deferred compensation.Paid Leave: Holidays, sick leave, vacation leave, and parental leave. Minimum Requirements: Juris Doctor from accredited school of law.Five years of progressive experience in the practice of governmental or conservation law. Certificate of admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Kansas or temporary permit to practice law issued by the Supreme Court of KansasThe successful candidate must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and pass a background check. Candidates must be licensed and in good standing with a state bar and must be licensed, or willing and eligible to become license, to practice law in the State of Kansas. Preferred Qualifications:Experience working as a license attorney practicing administrative, governmental or conservation law and/or experience with natural resources regulations.
