About the role
Lead and oversee the company's finance and internal support functions, partnering with the COO and leadership team on financial planning and strategic decision-making to ensure long-term financial stability and strong financial controls.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute long-term financial strategies and business plans
- Oversee internal financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Coordinate audits, tax filings, and legal reviews with external advisors
- Manage relationships with government and non-government entities regarding financial and legal matters
- Provide financial advice and recommendations to executive leadership
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities
- Ensure timely and accurate weekly payroll processing
- Develop and manage budgets and monitor actual performance against financial plans
- Analyze budget variances and report financial performance to leadership
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial forecasting
- Develop strategies to optimize cash management and liquidity
- Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop leaders across finance and internal service functions
- Establish performance expectations, conduct performance reviews, and support team development
- Lead cross-functional teams and ensure alignment with company operating standards
- Develop and monitor internal service-level standards and satisfaction metrics
- Resolve escalated internal service issues and implement process improvements
- Oversee company facilities and ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained work environment
- Manage company capital assets, including acquisition, tracking, maintenance, and disposition
- Maintain accountability for financial, fleet, and other company assets
- Oversee employee uniform programs and related vendor management
- Manage and maintain IT systems and technology infrastructure
- Support fleet management, including maintenance, compliance, and cost control
- Manage relationships with bonding and insurance providers
- Ensure appropriate insurance coverage, renewals, bonding requirements, and regulatory compliance
- Monitor organizational risk exposure and support risk mitigation strategies
- Manage vendor and external partner relationships
- Lead negotiations and support strategic business relationships
- Drive continuous improvement, process optimization, and operational efficiency
- Ensure accurate reporting, documentation, and internal controls across company functions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Operations Management, or a related field
- MBA or CPA preferred
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related leadership role
- Experience managing budgets, financial operations, vendor relationships, and cross-functional teams
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and financial accounting systems
- Experience with cash flow management, working capital, and financial forecasting
- Knowledge of insurance and bonding requirements
- Experience with facilities, asset, and fleet management
- Proficiency with CRM systems and general IT infrastructure concepts
- Strong negotiation, leadership, and people management experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business technology systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Texas Driver's License and clean driving history
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
