Chief Estimator – Concrete

About the role

Lithko Contracting is seeking a Chief Estimator with a strong business development and estimation background to join our team in Greenville, South Carolina. The Chief Estimator manages, implements, and refines new business development and preconstruction processes to ensure a proper backlog of work for our business unit. This includes bid strategy, bid estimates, accuracy of estimates, client negotiations, and effectively managing the project turnover process.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a geographical expert in identifying work opportunities in the commercial construction market.
• Understand the capacity of the business unit and align future projects with capabilities.
• Build relationships within the market to identify and secure new business opportunities.
• Validate accurate estimates and formulate appropriate bid strategies.
• Prepare and manage teams to execute projects by understanding project details and customer expectations.
• Effectively deliver projects to Lithko Operations Teams using the proper turnover process.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in Commercial Construction for a large-scale Self-Perform General Contractor or Concrete Contractor.
• Self-perform experience in concrete is required.
• Strong business development background and construction market knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Strong estimating background preferred.
• Experience with a variety of project types, with an emphasis on Commercial/Industrial construction.
• General knowledge of construction principles/practices, with experience on projects over $1 million.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering required.
