Chief Engineer Miami

About the role

The Chief Engineer oversees the maintenance of the building, both inside and out. Key responsibilities include HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical engineering, ensuring compliance with current codes and standards. The role involves providing technical support, managing repairs, and maintaining a clean, functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance and ensure adherence to preventative maintenance schedules.
• Supervise repairs performed by outside vendors and report on their quality.
• Maintain a clean and functional environment through regular inspections and repairs.
• Respond to maintenance requests and provide timely, professional service to residents.
• Interview, train, and develop maintenance staff.
• Develop and maintain a maintenance report detailing the condition of the property and progress on specific projects.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; preferred AA degree in industry.
• Three to five years of supervisory experience in building maintenance, preferably in high-rise buildings.
• Must be HVAC certified or have a comparable technical school certification.
• Strong working knowledge of basic trades including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and painting.
• Ability to analyze and interpret technical aspects of mechanical systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
• Valid Florida driver's license.
• Available for emergencies and occasional night and weekend work.
